Good Shepherd Catholic Primary School is part of the Romero Catholic Academy. The admissions authority for the school is the Board of Directors of the Romero Catholic Academy who has responsibility for admissions to this school. Good Shepherd School belongs to the Parish of St Elizabeths.
The admissions process for Good Shepherd Catholic Primary School is part of the Coventry Local Authority co-ordinated admissions scheme. To apply for a place at Good Shepherd Catholic Primary School in the normal admissions round, an application must be made using the school admission application process of the local authority in which you live naming Good Shepherd Catholic Primary School on the application form. Applications for September 2022 should have been made online via Coventry Council Admissions by 15th January 2022. Baptismal Certificates MUST be submitted to the school for any child who is Baptised Catholic by 15 January 2022.
All applications which are submitted on time will be considered at the same time, after the closing date.
If you are applying late (after 15th January 2022), please contact Coventry City Council Admissions as soon as possible. Your application will be considered in the second/third round after all those in the first round have been allocated.
You will be advised of the outcome of your application by email on 19th April 2022, or the next working day, by the local authority on behalf of the school.
The ethos of this school is Catholic. The school was founded by the Catholic Church to provide education for children of Catholic families. Whenever there are more applications than places available, priority will be given to Catholic children in accordance with the oversubscription criteria listed below. The school is conducted by its Board of Directors as part of the Catholic Church in accordance with its Articles of Association and seeks at all times to be a witness to Our Lord Jesus Christ.

An application can be made for a place for a child at any time outside the admission round and the child will be admitted where there are available places. An application should be made via the local authority by completing the in-year admissions application form which is available from Primary school in-year admissions and transfers – About your child – Coventry City Council
The local authority will forward your application to the school for consideration by the Admissions Committee.
Where there are places available but more applications than places, the published oversubscription criteria, as set out in the admission arrangements for 2021/22, will be applied. This policy link is above or please contact the school office to request a hard copy. Parents are advised to read the admission arrangements carefully before making their application.
If there are no places available, the local authority will notify you of this decision on behalf of the governors and the child will be added to the waiting list. Please see the admission arrangements for more details regarding waiting lists.
You will be advised of the outcome of your application in writing as soon as possible. Applicants must be informed of the outcome of their application within 15 school days of its receipt, but the aim is to notify applicants of the outcome of their application within 10 school days of its receipt.
You have the right to appeal to an independent appeal panel if your application is unsuccessful.

Applications are open for Nursery admissions for September 2022. Your child must be 3 years old by 31 August 2022 to be eligible to start in our Nursery in September. The closing date is Monday 9 May 2022.
Children who started our Nursery in the Spring & Summer terms 2022 (but who are not 4 years old by 1st September 2022 and therefore not eligible to start school in September) will receive priority in the allocation for September 2022 and will be contacted by the school by letter to see if they wish to stay in our Nursery from September.
To apply for a new place in our Nursery the online application form below should be completed and returned to us by Monday 9th May 2022. Please also forward the school a copy of your child’s baptism certificate (if applicable)and birth certificate (either in person at the school or by email).

Places have now been allocated for Nursery for September 2022. We have no 30 hour places remaining. We have a small number of morning or afternoon places still available. If you would like to apply for one of these places please click on the link below and complete the application form.
