Yesterday we took part in French day to link in with our topic of Europe. Children were talking in French when answering the register and in general conversations words that they knew. At the start of the day we looked at different types of French food. We followed instructions to make French toast which was topped with syrup and ice cream. We then went on to research about France using the Macbooks and create a fact file/poster around important facts. Children learnt about currency, population, sport, food and landmarks. After this we used our art skills of sketching and shadowing using different styles of pencils to draw the Eiffel Tower. Whilst this was happening we were letting Camembert cook in the oven then they had the chance to try French cheese-Camembert with crusty bread. Finally, we discussed the events of the day and wrote a diary entry explaining the day. This linked to our English topic as we are planning to write a diary entry about events in the Iron man.
