Y1 Remembrance Day

In Class 1 we watched clips from the war and looked at photos of the soldiers in their trenches. We saw the poppies in the fields and in wreaths laid around statues with the dead soldier’s names on. In the morning we tried to do different sorts of writing about remembrance day.

In the afternoon we tried to make origami poppies, following instructions and also painted a poppy picture using finger paints. We had a go on the ipads drawing our own poppy pictures too, using the purple mash programme. We had a lovely day remembering the soldiers who have made our world a better place to live in

Year 1 at Cotswold Wildlife Park

On Wednesday Year 1 children visited the Cotswold Wildlife Park as a start to their new topic on AMAZING ANIMALS!

The children watched the penguins plop into the water and loved the baby Rhino called John. They even ate their lunch with the monkeys watching them!

Their favourite part though, was watching the giraffes fighting! All the children had a great time and were a credit to our school – as usual.
